About the restaurant

Peckham Cellars was founded by Helen Hall, Luke West-Whylie and Ben McVeigh, three friends whose collective experience in hospitality is extensive and diverse: Hall is a Leiths-trained chef, while West-Whylie and McVeigh combine a decade and a half’s experience in the wine trade.

The restaurant takes advantage of a big footprint, feeling open, airy and hip and combining small bistro-style tables with some counter-dining options. The vibe at weekend nights especially is sociable and fun.

While the wine bar has always offered sharing plates alongside its wines, the founders' trio added head chef Henry Freestone in 2020 to refine the offering, serving plates of modern British and seasonal food created to complement the 150-bottle wine list. Wine-wise the list leans modern, with the team sourcing bottles from exciting producers across Europe and the New World, with some great natural and skin-contact options.

The Nudge

The place they’ve created is bright & airy, with light from the floor-to-ceiling windows spilling onto simple wooden mid-century furnishings.
