Burger & Lobster was one of the first groups to change the way Londoners considered the chain restaurant, adding seven London locations soon after finding success with its original site in Mayfair. It remains an ever-popular spot for long lunches and blowout dinners and has since added restaurants across the UK and the world, including Dubai and New York.
As its name suggests, the short menu here pulls no punches, offering its Original Burger alongside a grilled or steamed Atlantic lobster, sourced from and a lobster roll. The standout dish is the B&L combo, an Original Burger served with a whole or half lobster at £40 or £25 respectively, while there are some decent wines on the list that start at a reasonable £21 for a bottle.
The Soho location has a New York feel, with a comfortable and spacious dining room and a wraparound marble counter, and is placed right on the always popular and historic Dean Street, surrounded by great restaurants and close to some of the West End’s best theatres.
The menu has expanded of late, offering more than the original three options. There's still the standard key elements but with more flavours to play with, like the Singapore chilli roll and the chilli lobster.
When Burger & Lobster tipped up, that all changed – because they offered by far the least expensive lobster (certainly that you’d ever be advised to eat) available in London.
